The Business Analytics Initiative (BAI), housed in the Poole College of Management at NC State University combines data, innovation, and leadership. It serves as the hub for all of business analytics activities including:

  • Providing a world class business education that enables our graduates to tackle today’s challenging data-driven business problems. Engaging in world-class research that develops innovative methodologies, frameworks, and tools to help organizations address their challenges head-on.
  • Delivering global thought leadership to industry and providing a forum to discuss their analytics challenges with one other.

FIR e.V. at RWTH Aachen University, Germany

The Research Institute for Rationalization (FIR) e.V. was founded in 1953 at the RWTH Aachen University with the mission to establish and intensify research in the field of business organization in Germany. Today the institute helps companies; it also researches, qualifies, and teaches in the areas of production management, logistics, service management, information management, and business transformation. FIR has been awarded “Innovator of the Year” by the magazine Brand Eins in 2018 and 2019.

FIR’s strategic focus, among other things, is digital transformation, including topics such as Industry 4.0 and Smart Services. The center has approximately 190 members from companies and institutions, as well as public and private citizens. The scientific work of FIR is enriched by a large portion of experimental research in its own innovation lab as well Demonstration Factory Aachen, a production facility operated under real-world conditions.
